day 1 - travel

The trouble of the day came when our Boston flight was delayed almost an hour which really concerned us since we had little time to connect in New York to Bangkok. Needless to say, we prayed a lot on the plane. Upon arriving Logan, myself and Adam (more about him later) rushed through JFK airport to Thai Airways. We had to get a new boarding pass. However, the Father enabled us to do all that in about 25 minutes. Then we made it through security check and onto the nicest plane I've ever flown on. We pretty much planned on not getting our luggage on arrival. I have a long track record with this one. But the Lord had other plans - to show us his faithfulness in provision in all circumstances. Thanks be to God.
Adam, is a 39 year old guy who lives in the greater Boston area. He was traveling home to Laos (country adjacent to Thailand) to comfort his mother because his 21 year old brother died from a motorcycle accident a few day ago. Adam hung with us as we navigated through JFK airport and as we got through in Bangkok. He gave us his contact info. Please pray that the Lord would comfort him and his family through their time of loss and that he was able to experience the love of Christ through us. Pray for continuing relationship with him when we return.
We'll give you more info about Thailand tomorrow, but now we have to crash!
Sawat-dii kha! (means goodbye or hello)
Thanks for checking in. Pray for our rest, integration into the culture, relationships with the missionaries, learning Thai and giving glory to God in all things. We will give you more specific prayer requests soon. Peace in Christ!
