Another Busy Summer
During the school year I always imagine that the summer will be a wonderful time to kick back and relax, but it never is. I am scrambling to write support letters for my trip to South Africa with the church. We are leaving in 19 days and I have exactly $0.00 towards the trip. This weekend we are headed to Washington D.C. for my first veterinary conference. Melissa has already informed me that I won't actually get to operate the ultrasound, but there's always a chance I can scrounge up a lab coat and perform some minor surgeries or something.
Melissa's never been to D.C., so this should be a fun trip. I'm practically an expert on the city after spending 5 full days there in sixth grade. As soon as we get some free time I'm taking her to see the Lincoln memorial, Washington monument, the white house, the stairs from rocky, mile high stadium, dollywood, and all those other things D.C. is famous for. In addition to fun site-seeing, the vet conference has some great events planned for the families in attendance including a goo goo dolls concert and a stand-up show from a former cast member of mad TV. At least we get free lunch.
