We're Back!

First things first - I am pleased to announce that i have finally figured out how to properly record a podcast.  This week's sermon has great sound quality, so feel free to check it out.  It was a little short because of some time considerations this week, so I included audio of the prayers before and after on the sermon for you to join it on.

Things are busy as we head towards our September 14th launch date.  I am currently working on getting a few signs designed, redoing the bulletins, and I am preaching on August 12th, so that is on my mind as well.  Not to mention the whole support raising thing which should be taking up most of my free time.

It has been an eventful week so far in Dorchester, we had a few new people show up at the service on sunday and at the Softball game on Saturday.  I met a guy at the grocery store whose name tag said "Papi" (as in David "Big Papi" Ortiz ), and I knew he was a prospective ShawMutt.  Despite the much needed assistance of Papi and his brother in law last weekend, we were obliterated by the opposition.  Who beat us?  None other than the perennial champions (a.k.a. the Yankees of the boston metro church league), our mother church CTK-Cambridge.  What a bummer.  After the game, I realized, we are only in our infancy as a church, our launch is still over a month away.  Sure, it was a defeat, but it was like a child playing basketball their Dad when they are 7 years old.  Dad has no problem dunking on the six foot goal and blocking shots when Jr. is only 4 feet tall, but eventually Jr. is going to grow into a spry young teenager.  Those days will come for Dorchester-- hopefully before we meet again in the playoffs.

On another note, check out prayforthedot.com for the latest prayer requests from the church.
