Big Weekend

After preaching this Sunday, I finally got my first sermon online. I think this is a modern day pastoral right of passage. If you are interested you can hear it on our sermon's page.

Aside from preaching, Melissa and I also had a busy week because we went on the Christ the King Church-wide getaway. Glenn Hoburg, pastor of Grace DC spoke, and we both gained a lot from his messages. We spent the weekend in Rumney, NH at a Christian Conference Center. It was great to get out of the city for a few days, breathe some fresh air, and look at the beautiful colors of a New England autumn. Unfortunately, we forgot the camera, but I took a few cell phone pictures that will have to suffice (See the Photos page for more).

While we were away, the Shawmutts' season was tragically cut short due to a first-round playoff game that was played without one third of the normal team. There is always next season I suppose, but as you can imagine, we are hitting the recruiting trails hard in the off season (aka. working to grow the church through sharing the gospel).

Despite the disappointing performance on the athletic field we are enjoying the work of church planting, and we love being in Dorchester. In fact, we consider our unborn child blessed to one day be able to proudly display his/her OFD bumper sticker. Speaking of our unborn child, Melissa got her first maternity outfit this week, an event that sparked an unexpected modeling session. Here is one of the highlights:
As you can see, she has a ways to go before filling it out.
