Halloween and an Election

We are pumped for our first Halloween in Dorchester. This will be my first opportunity to give out candy since I was in high school. I just asked Melissa about it and apparently she has never passed out Halloween candy. Wow. So, I think in our excitement we have over-prepared. We have five bags of candy and we live in a two-family home which means our downstairs neighbors will be passing out the goods too. Kids who show up at this door are going to leave happy.

(Side note: when we were at walgreens buying the candy we had a hard time choosing what we wanted, but at one point Melissa seriously suggested that we get those black and orange wrapper taffy candies. Am I wrong, or does every kid hate those things? Well, she pointed them out and was all excited about them, and I was shocked. I clearly had no idea who I married. I told her I refuse to be "that house," and we ended up settling for whoppers and Kit Kats.)

Although Halloween is still a few days away, Melissa and I have already been to our Halloween party for the year. We dressed as Dwight and Angela from the office, and I think we were with the only group of late 20's business people who did not watch the show. What had the potential to be a great costume instead became the impetus for a night of blank stares and "oh, yeah...I think I've heard of that."

Our costume may have flopped, but Obama costumes were a hit. Throughout the evening, there were several Obama's around the room, and judging by amazon.com there will be millions of Obama's and McCains on Friday night. If you are planning on going as one of them, might I instead suggest Zombama and McBrain? You can thank me later.
