This morning

A conversation I just had with Melissa who has a final exam this morning:

Me: Good luck on your test. Don't worry, you will be done with your class in just a few hours.

Her: Have fun at the Dinosaur museum.

Our lives have been pretty different this week. She is taking an intensive January term class, and I am doing the work of a church planter. My life is spent building relationships, making connections with the community, and doing administrative things for our small congregation.

Today I am going helping out a teacher in one of our local schools by chaperoning a trip to the museum of science. While its hard for me to come to grips with the fact that I am several years past the participant/chaperone transition point in my life, I must say, going to see museums for free is a great benefit.
